The properties at 500 Merrimon Ave. have sat empty for years slowly deteriorating. The Woolsey Development Improvement Project is working to bring together neighbors, designers, thinkers, architects, builders, businesses, and all Ashevillians with pride their city and their community to help return these historic buildings back to productive use. If you have the heart, skills or resources to to help we welcome you to join. Let’s work together. All together now!

Our goal is to give back to the community while saving historic structures. Through engaging with the community broadly, a plan will emerge through a process that is both focused and fluid.

Connection is a core part of the process. We all learn from one another and the best ideas come from the most unexpected places.

This project will be guided by design professionals that are based here in Asheville.

Community is our goal. That’s from the first conversations to the final dollar spent. We prioritize comfort, safety, and respect—so show up and you can be as engaged as in the process as you want to be.
