Alternative Stadium Locations
Have you ever played soccer in the woods or on a mountainside? It doesn’t make sense. What other sites within the UNCA campus or greater Asheville are are better suited for a soccer stadium? Wouldn’t a soccer complex where multiple games could be played on multiple fields bring in more visitors? Wouldn’t a site that has room to expand make more sense? Wouldn’t a flat site or open field make more sense than a wooded hill?
-

Alternative Developments
Have you ever wanted to live next to a sports arena? Wouldn’t a park centered district be more sustainable long term? Why isn’t the university partnering with businesses that can bring capital and jobs to the region? Returns on sports entertainment developments rarely exceed their hyped projections. What programming / planning would have more reliable returns?

Lease Protections
This site sits wholly within the City of Asheville, yet being state owned, City of Asheville zoning and ordinances don’t apply. Our community needs protections written into any millennial campus lease.
